Easy Steps to Instant Makeup

Here are a few simple tips to put on makeup for women who had rather keep it less and yet look their best.

Always wash your face before beginning to apply makeup. After drying the face apply concealer which is one shade lighter than your skin color. Concealer should take care of your dark circles, blemishes and scars. Spread the concealer with the tip of your finger or using a sponge.

Rub some lotion on your skin. The lotion will spread the concealer better and also help the makeup stay longer on your face. If you have oily skin or suffer from acne use oil-free lotion.

Dot your face with a foundation that matches your skin tone. Use makeup sponge or the tip of your finger to spread it evenly over your face and neck.

Using a large makeup brush apply loose or pressed powder over the foundation. This will help the concealer and foundation last.

Do your eyes next. A good eye makeup is guaranteed to keep your facial flaws unnoticed. To draw attention to your eyes use powdered eye makeup instead of pencilled makeup.

Use three different colors of eye shadow ranging from lighter to darker. Begin by applying the darkest shade just above the upper eyelid in a thin line. The medium dark shade should be used only on the crease of the eyelid and the light shade needs to be applied just below the brow.

Now apply eyeliner or kohl on the upper and lower eyelids. Use two coats of mascara on the upper eye lashes and single coat on the lower eye lashes. Black mascara is good for all occasions however; you can also experiment with brown if you have light skin tone.

Highlight your cheekbones by applying a light color blush. Use the blush to a minimum and apply in only one stroke. If you have to blend then you’ve used too much of the blush on.

Wear a lip color that best suits your skin color. Also go along with the time of the day you are wearing your lipstick. If it’s daytime use a light, pastel colors and darker shades can be kept for night time use.

Next use a lip liner after applying lipstick. The trick lies in keeping the liner on for as long as the lipstick will last. And you are ready to go!
