If you have ever wondered what suits your body type and ski colour, checkout here!
For the fat and cute
If you are plum or slightly overweight, do not go for contrasting shades that do not give a flow to your body. Stick to the dark shades and monochromatic colours that can give length to your body without breaking it. Here, manmade fibres can do wonders for your body as they all have a slimming effect and cling to your body.
Everything can have a shade of grey when you choose colours. So if you want to go for a bright pink colour, add a shade of grey to make it dirty pink and use it! Small prints, vertical lines, straight cuts, princess seams, all welcome for plump ladies…
Make sure you avoid frilly shirts, flared pants and skirts and loose clothes. Everything ust be well fitted and styled.
For a medium structure
Georgettes, satin, silk and all medium weight fabrics are for medium weight women. Women with a medium structure can use same colour shades for the top and the bottom to make them look taller. Straight cut jeans, A line skirts, leggings, skinny jeans and boot cuts will look good for medium structures. They can also go for high heels to improve their height.
Thin and tall Women
Ladies, if you are thin and tall, you are lucky. Every colour would suit you just fine. Frilly frocks, layered skirts, pleated dresses, shirts with ruffles, textured fabrics, bold prints…the list is endless. But make sure that you do not go for same colour top and bottom which would make you look painfully thin. Flaunt your tones arms and shoulders in sleeveless dresses, spaghetti straps and scoop necks etc. Short skirts can show off your long legs and thighs.
Thin and short women
However, if you are thin and short, you need to be careful as to what you choose. To make you look taller, you can choose black dresses and dark monochromatic shades for your top and bottom. An illusion of continuity has to be created in order to look tall.
Wear high heels along with straight pants or well tailored skirts without flair. You can also wear leggings or skin tight jeans to make you look tall. Deep necklines like a V or U, boat neck, vertical stripes etc will give you length. Textures and heavy fabrics are an absolute no no for thin and short women.
Dressing according to your skin tone
Skin tone plays a great role in enhancing the colour that you wear. Fair skinned women look particularly good in dark shades as their complexion is enhanced by the dark colours. Medium complexion can carry a mixture of colours that suit both the skin tones. Bronze shades and beige tones complement their skin tone. For the darker women, lighter colours must be used in order not to look too dark.
