Summer is approaching and finally it becomes a difficult task to maintain our mane. The damaging effects of the sun rob our hair of the moisture thereby making it dry and brittle. It is important that you take care of your hair a bit more during the summers.
The sun and the humidity level in the atmosphere play havoc to your hair. Your hair ends up being brittle, frizzy and coarse. During humid weather, our sebaceous glands tend to be active and increase the hair oils.
On the other hand cold weather gradually slows down the sebum production making it frizzy. If you chemically treat your hair make sure that you give proper attention as the hair loses its moisture. Make sure that you use a good conditioner after every shampoo.
You can try and use flaxseed oil which is a good moisturizer. Try to take a warm towel wrap at least once a month so that your hair is conditioned. Yoghurt can be applied once a week for the added shine to your hair. There are certain hair growth oils that are available in the market. You could use them after checking out the contents of the oil.
Massaging your hair with jojoba oil will also prove to be beneficial. For brittle hair try to avoid shampoos that contain alkaline or alcohol for brittle hair. For best results try to use a leave in conditioner and trim your hair on a regular basis to avoid split ends.
When you take a plunge in the pool make sure that you wear a cap so that the chlorine present in the water does not affect you. Remember to rinse your hair with water once you come out of a pool.
For healthy hair drink plenty of water and try to have a diet that is rich in proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Vitamins such as A, C, E are beneficial for our hair. Two essential fats omega-3 and omega-6 are required by our body for hair growth.
Omega-3 fats are found mostly in algae, cold water fish, dark green veggies, hemp oil, and flaxseed and pumpkin seed oils .An iron rich diet is also important for healthy hair.
