Get High Cheekbones
Every woman desires high cheekbones but not all of us are blessed with them. But there are ways to give an illusion of high cheekbones with the right makeup tricks.
All you will need is an application brush and two shades of the base colour you are using. One of the shades will be darker than you skin colour and the other a shade lighter. The darker shade will be applied beneath your cheekbone to create a shadowy effect. On the other hand, the lighter shade will be applied onto the cheekbones, to make them appear higher.
The perfect shade to use below the cheekbones is a bronzer or a nude blush that is slightly darker than your natural skin colour. You could also try a foundation darker than your skin colour. In case you are using foundation, all your makeup should be in crème or mousse texture.
Now, the method to apply the blush appropriately. Use a large round brush to lift the powder blush from its case. Next, dab the brush below the cheekbones to smear the area slightly with the colour. In case you are using a cream blush or foundation, dot it below the cheekbone.
Sweep the brush in the outward direction to blend adequately. To blend appropriately, start at the middle of the cheek parallel to the outer corner of the mouth. From there move the brush towards ears, ending at the top of the ear.
This completes the work just beneath your cheekbones. Now you need to highlight the apple of your cheekbones. For this you have to use the lighter shade of the blush or foundation.
First, smile to find the apples of your cheeks; they are the part of your cheeks that stand out when you smile. You have to apply the lighter shade on the highest point of the apples of your cheeks.
Dab or dot the blush on the highest point of the cheeks that is closest to the outer corner of the eye. To blend appropriately, move the brush or sponge in a circular motion. The circular movement should be directed upwards and outwards reaching towards the temple.
Avoid coming close to either the rim of the eye or edge of the nose. This can considerably mar the appearance of the blush. Make sure to blend properly, especially where the two different shades meet on the cheeks. There, you can see your cheekbones will look distinctly higher.
