How to Get The Perfect Fit for Your Trousers
Men have less choice when coming to dressing up. All they can do with are the shirts, trousers and jackets. So it is necessary that these fit on you properly. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind when you want to get your trousers fit you right.
Going from top down, the first thing is the waistband. No gaping waistline but enough space for one finger to go between the waistband and your waist is the perfect size. See that you feel comfortable after you zip up and sit down.
Check that the bottom of the trousers does not bag or hugs your backside tightly. It is better to go for a slightly loose fit than a tight one when wearing your trousers at formal gatherings. Whatever might be the style of your pocket, when you are standing it must lie flat and closed and not show the inner lining.
As one moves down, comes the side seam, a part often taken for granted but very important for the perfect fit. It must run in a straight line from the waist to the hem and there should be no puckering or pulling along the whole stretch. The inside seam is as important as the side seam because it is responsible for your comfort.
It should cross the seam inside the legs in such a way that you should not feel any pull when you sit down. And how to find out if the crotch seam fits you? Try out all possible movements and you should feel comfortable. Just see that the length is not too long or too tight as both look bad.
Now the legs. See that the shape looks coherent both at the knees and at the hem. The crease of the legs should be crisp all along and run right down the middle of the legs. If the crease line falls outside your leg it does not look smart. Finally, the hem. It will depend on the style.
If it is a formal wear then the hem should be equal or lesser than the knee width and touch your instep in front and cover half of your heel. The height of the trouser is also important. Better wear it a bit long than short. Finally, check your back in a mirror for complete satisfaction.
