Look Younger With Make-Up
Get the base right: Heavy make-up is bound to make you look older. The bright summer sun often makes most foundations look heavy. Uses of heavy foundations tend to block the pores thus aggravating pimples. Use the ones with lighter tones and coverage.
Go for a sheer foundation. Get the glow with a plain and matt finish. Never use a foundation that is paler to your skin tone as it tends to exaggerate fine lines. Switch to a shade darker than your skin. After application, press a cotton swab on the areas where you have wrinkles to soak up the excess. Never apply heavy concealer on dark circles. A thick under-eye cover-up looks concrete and stands out. Keep it light and use a brush to distribute the color evenly.
Define your eyes: Eyes prominently show your age and require the maximum attention in terms of make-up detailing. Opt for eye shadow bases that control oil. The mineral-based shadows look great during the summer months. Apply the shadow at the centre of your lid and avoid too much of shimmer. Use a brow pencil to highlight the brow bone.
Curling your lashes is the easiest thing to make your eyes look bigger and younger. Use water-resistant mascaras and eyeliners to prevent smudging around your eyes. Avoid the crayon and use pencil or liquid liner. Avoid applying eyeliner and mascara on your lower lashes as it makes your eyes look smaller and draws attention to the dark circles. Stick to the upper lids making the line thicker towards the outer corners.
Go low with the lips: As you age, your lips tend to lose its fullness. Avoid extreme bright colors and dark shades on your lips Use a neutral lip color to define the corners. Translucent lip colors will add to your fresh summer feel. Switch to a sheer gloss for more fullness.
Keep the blusher right: Applying blusher on the apples of your cheeks will make your cheeks appear more sagging. Apply color on the highest point of your cheekbones away from the bones and lift it upwards with a brush. Stay on the safer side with neutral colors that compliment all skin tones. Go for the sheer loose powders and powdered bronzer.
