Sensitive skin has to be handled with great care and patience as it is extremely delicate and easily susceptible to environmental changes, dust, pollution and chemical products.

People with sensitive skin face a hard time as the skin easily reacts to any changes and becomes red, itchy and breaks out instantly.

However, a routine skin care of cleansing, toning and moisturizing has to be followed to keep the skin clean and soft. It is well known that people with sensitive skin have to take extra precautions while choosing their skin care ingredients so as to see it does not irritate the skin. For this purpose natural skin care regimen can be followed at home as the ingredients used are very safe for the skin.

Cleaning the face
at least 2-3 times a day is necessary. For this purpose natural cleansers can be used as they contain no chemicals. Jojoba oil or almond oil can be massaged gently on the skin and kept for few minutes and then washed off with water. Liquid castile soap can also be used as an effective cleanser.

An alcohol free toner has to be chosen to ensure that it does not harm the skin. Rose water acts as a refreshing toner and it makes the face bright and soft. Comfrey seeds can also be boiled in water, and after cooling this solution can be applied to the face with a cotton ball. Another great natural toner can be made with peppermint tea and a drop of lemon juice mixed together. This acts as a great astringent. Green tea can be cooled and then applied to the face as a toner.

After cleansing and toning it is necessary to moisturize the face to make it smooth and silky soft. Honey can be applied on the face and kept for sometime. This acts as a great natural moisturizer and makes the skin glow. Shea butter can also be applied in little amount to make the skin soft.

To soothe any itchiness or burning sensation aloe vera gel can be applied on the skin as it has got anti inflammatory properties which is good for healing the skin. Finally, a good sunscreen lotion has to be applied every time before stepping out in the sun to prevent the skin from getting red and irritated.
