Types Of Casual ShoesIn the stone ages, when man understood that his soles are not made for walking naked, he started covering them with the things at his disposal. Those may have been animal skins, i.e., leather, tree hides, and other such materials.

Later he felt a need to secure them more firmly on his feet and thence began different such kinds of experiments. Thus came about the legacy of shoes. What was a mere necessity in the beginning has become fashion statement now. We have got numerous disparate types of shoes, with each cut out for, literally, a different purpose.

Today, indeed each closet in a well to do house has separate shoes for each occasion, sometimes even for wearing during different times of the day. Casual shoes are one such type of shoes, which serve a number of functions in our day to day lives.

Now, with most of the corporate offices allowing casual wear, a large number of people prefer wearing casual shoes which are more comfortable than the bulky formal shoes made out of leather and what not. There are in fact several types of casual shoes as well available in the market.

Sneakers

Sneakers are probably the most favoured and the most widely used type of casual shoes. They are basically meant for daily activities, but nowadays many people use it in offices too, because as mentioned before, casual wear is preferred in most companies. Also, many a times, sneakers can pass off with the formal attire too.

Canvas Shoes

Although, before some years these enjoyed limited popularity amongst the masses, now these are the “in” thing. With several brands making these kinds of shoes, most of the youngsters now prefer them. Hence it has acquired the “branded” tag and the following. Also they can be paired with most of the clothes that one wears casually.

Running Shoes

These are yet another type of casual shoes that people wear for running purposes. These are used mostly in gyms or else on running tracks where people usually come for jogging.

Also, they are used on beaches sometimes, which is another spot people go for jogging these days. They generally have spikes on their underside which helps maintain traction on the track.

For people who don’t especially like tying and untying laces every time they remove shoes, the slip ons are a blessing. These shoes don’t have laces and can be removed and put on with relative ease. They can be considered as the best compromise between casual and formal wear and can be used at both the occasions with the same elan.
